Inpatient Care

Our Approach to Inpatient Care

KnG Healthcare delivers short term hospital care for patients who no longer require acute hospital treatment but are not yet clinically or socially ready to return home. This may include patients who need additional monitoring, rehabilitation, care coordination or support before transitioning to the next stage of care. Our role is to provide a safe, structured and professionally supervised environment that supports recovery while maintaining continuity of care.

Our hospital care services operate within robust clinical governance frameworks and are aligned with the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards. This ensures care is delivered safely, respectfully and consistently, with a strong focus on patient dignity, quality outcomes and clear communication with families and referring services.

The KnG Healthcare model is designed to bridge the gap between acute hospital admission and discharge to home, aged care or community based services. Care is delivered by experienced clinical teams, supported by strong discharge planning and coordination. This approach supports patient flow, reduces unnecessary hospital stays and helps ensure transitions are well planned and appropriate to individual needs.

What does this mean for patients and families?

For patients, this means receiving the right level of care at the right time, in a setting that supports recovery and prepares them for the next step in their care journey. Patients continue to receive professional clinical oversight, with care focused on stabilisation, rehabilitation and readiness for discharge.

For families, it means reassurance and clarity during what can be a stressful period. Care is delivered in a structured and supportive environment, with clear communication, thoughtful discharge planning and coordination with hospitals and community services. Families can feel confident that their loved one is being cared for safely, while planning for the most appropriate next stage of care.

Developed in strong partnership with supportive local health services, this model addresses the urgent need for hospital bed capacity. The result is a smoother flow of patients through the health system, fewer delays for those awaiting hospital admission, and greater efficiency in emergency departments.

I was very impressed with the standard and compassion the whole team displayed during my stay 10/10

– Patient

Your nursing team and social workers have been just wonderful. So professional always courteous and helpful. It has been a challenging time deciding on mum's care, but it gave me great comfort knowing she was in the best of hands with your team. It really is patient centred, and it was lovely to see how much they fussed over mum and made her feel cared for and respected. Also, the security team were just lovely. Always accommodating and helpful where they could be.
