Residential Aged Care
What Are the Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards?
Australia’s aged care system is changing, with new rules designed to improve the quality and safety of care for older Australians. These changes include the introduction of the Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards, which set clearer expectations for how aged care services should be delivered.
The standards focus on putting older people at the centre of care, with an emphasis on dignity and respect, safe and effective care, clear communication, workforce capability and continuous improvement. They apply across residential aged care and care delivered in the home and form part of broader reforms to strengthen accountability and trust in the aged care system.
KnG Healthcare is aligning its systems, workforce practices and service approaches with the Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards. This alignment supports our broader commitment to quality, safety and accountability, and reflects the direction of ongoing reforms aimed at strengthening trust in the aged care system and improving outcomes for older Australians and their families.
